There are several types of compensation law in Australia.  Most people are most familiar with the concept of workers compensation, though it is a very complicated issue that can be difficult to understand and navigate.  When an injured worker retains a workers compensation lawyer, that lawyer should then advise the client as to the proper way to file the claim and how to handle the investigations and documentation requests that will follow that claim.  Additionally, the lawyer will act as a ‘middle man’ between the worker, the government agency handling the claim, and the insurer who has indemnified the employer against loss.
