Recognizing a Sauvignon Blanc

Savvy wine connoisseurs can easily distinguish a Sauvignon Blanc no matter where it comes from and most of them can in fact identify the region where it originates. For those who are new to wines. This popular grape variety comes from the Bordeaux and Loire Valley regions of France but is currently being grown in Australia, Chile, New Zealand, South Africa, Brazil and California. The taste ranges from grassy to sweet depending on the climate in which it is grown. It can also be crisp and medium combined with gooseberry flavors with a whiff of green melon and freshly cut grass.
