When you discover an interest in sailing you will need to purchase a sailboat.  If you have spare funds available then you will find many deals on sailing boats and paying cash is better.  You can purchase via auction and get great water craft deals.  You can also purchase your sailing boat using a finance programme and you can pay this off monthly.  This is easier for those purchasing a boat as it is expensive.  Some of the things to consider is how you will cope with living in confined areas for lengthy periods.  Being stuck on a boat for a long time is alot different than being in a small house.  If you think you would enjoy quiet time on the water and small living quarters won’t pose a problem them the life of a recreational sailor would be something you should consider.
