Getting taupo accommodation for a group of nine that all require their own room was not as easy as I thought it was going to be, mostly because of the big race that was happening that weekend. I phoned around several places and none of them had that many rooms vacant so I ended up having to split the bookings amongst three different places. Although it wasn’t ideal it still worked out pretty well, especially because I got a room at the nicer of the three options, of course, seeing as I was the one making the bookings. Everyone was happy with the assigned places though, so it was all good.
